Rick and Bubba's Guide to the Almost Nearly Perfect Marriage

I recently joined the Thomas Nelson Book Blogger review board. I am really loving this because I get a chance to get free books and review them at the same time.

My first book to review was Rick and Bubba's Guide to the Almost Nearly Perfect Marriage. This book was a delight to read! From the first page to the last, I gleaned new insights for my own marriage. . .which is always a true blessing in itself.
I laughed, I cried, I agreed with some, and then I laughed some more. I could see me and my husband through the pages of this book. Here are a few of the snippets that caught my attention:
  • The very first thing you see when you open the book is a bible verse about marriage. (That instantly hooked me)
  • Each chapter has sayings and quotes to help you be a better spouse, but that will also leave your sides in stitches.
  • To know that marriage is not perfect, only God is, sounds throughout the book.
Here is the summary from the back of the book:
What do the two sexiest fat men in America have to say on the subject of marriage? Plenty! With more than 33 years of marriage between them, New York Times bestselling authors Rick and Bubba have had their share of forgotten anniversaries, marital misunderstandings, parent-teacher meetings, family vacations, moving, visits to the amusement parks, and all the better and worse you can imagine.
And they've survived it all!
Are their marriages perfect? Of course not. There isn't a marriage on earth that can claim that title. Prince Charming is a fairy tale; and let's face it, the Stepford Wives were a little creepy.
But, according to Rick and Bubba, any marriage can be "almost nearly perfect," and they're determined to show you how to have plenty fo fun along your way to that goal!
So if your own marriage could use a lot more laughter, some sound wisdome from the Bible, and a dose of Rick and Bubba's own hilarious personal experiences, look no further. You've found the ultimate marriage book--including the oft quoted Book of Blame!

If you have never read this book, let me encourage you to get your own copy! This was one of the best books I have ever read on marriage. It helped me to see that even though I serve God, that my marriage will not be perfect and that to love to my spouse in his imperfections helps me to have a nearly perfect marriage!
