Fun at The Punkin’ Patch

We love going to the Pumpkin Patch here in Kentucky. We have a Christian family who has opened their farm to share with others and it is the most fun all year.

This year was a little different than any other simply because my kids did not break their neck to play with the cool toys this year. They wanted to just hang out with friends.

And of course the boys wanted to play football.

But we did get to do some of the fun activities that the farm offers. One of Kayla’s favorite is grinding the corn off the cob.

And of course, they have THE coolest hay castle around that has always been a favorite, especially for Robert.

He is the king of his castle (or so he thinks).

After playing for a bit and feeding the animals, we took our hayride. I personally love the hayride.020

The hayride takes you around the corn field to the entrance of the corn maze. This year, I went by myself through the maze as the kids were off going through with their friends…I didn’t get lost though!

After coming out of the corn maze, you enter the pumpkin patch to pick your very own pumpkin. The kids look forward to this cause they love to carve the pumpkins and eat the seeds (pictures to come).

After picking our pumpkins we go hang out with our homeschool friends and catch up on each other’s lives. My children have been so blessed by the friendships they have created. Just because we are homeschooling doesn’t mean there is not any socialization! There is TONS of socialization for homeschool kids. Just look around.

Before we left, we had to have a go around on the trikes! When my kids were younger, this was their favorite thing to do. You think they are getting too big for them??033 031

All in all we had a great time. I love homeschool field trips!030
