Homemade Oatmeal

I learned last week how to make oatmeal from scratch (yeah I know--it's like one of the easiest things on the planet to make and I had NO clue how to make it!)

I was quite proud of the end results, so I am sharing my recipe with you--just in case you are like me and did not know how to make homemade oatmeal!

Homemade Oatmeal
Ingredients
1/2 cup of quick cooking oats
1 tbsp powdered milk
1/8 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of sugar
1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 cup of extremely hot water

Directions
Combine all dry ingredients into your bowl. Add one cup of hot water and allow to sit for about five minutes. During that time mix ingredients together occasionally until desired thickness has been achieved.

Jennifer, this looks yummy!! :) I especially like brown sugar and cinnamon in my oatmeal... it's just delicious. :) And I think the pinch of salt makes a difference, too! :)

Thanks for sharing this on Kitchen Tip Tuesdays. Unfortunately, to keep the scope of Kitchen Tip Tuesdays focused on kitchen tips (rather than recipes) I can only add links to posts that contain a kitchen tip (that tip can be included with a recipe, but should be more universal in scope -- i.e. it can be applied to cooking in general, not just a specific recipe.). I hope this makes sense! Let me know if you have questions. :)
