A Father and His Son

Each week for school, my kids get to choose someone to write a letter to. It can be a family member, a friend, or someone that just needs some uplifting. Kayla usually writes to her grandmother. This week Robert wrote a letter to his dad that I just had to share with you:

Dear Dad,

I want you to know that I am proud of you and your work. I love you so, and I hope we can spend more time together.

I also hope that one day, I can come and work with you on your job. I hope we can go fishing more, and when I finally catch that monster bass, I am going to thank you for teaching me. You are the best fisherman to me, and you have given me everything I could ever want.

Sincerely,

Robert Sikora

Things like this just make a mother's heart melt in two! This is definitely a Finer Thing. I do believe that THIS is one of the best things about homeschooling. We get to set an example for our kids and show them how to love God's way.

What a fantastic idea to have your kids write weekly letters! Handwriting a letter is a dying art... my daughter loves to write and draw, and often does so after school. I should put her in charge of some weekly letters. ;)
