While I’m Waiting

Last night as my husband and I watched Fireproof again, one of the songs on there reminded me about our struggles over the last year with jobs and finances.
The song I am talking about is While I’m Waiting by John Waller.
The words to this song speak so clearly to me.
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait
I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord
Last October, Stephen lost his business due to the economy. We had to close the doors and look for work elsewhere. I landed a job working from home for The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, but for my husband this was not so easy.
We went from October 2008 until July of this year living off my income and the money Stephen made from selling his tools and things. We were determined to see this struggle through, all the while giving God all the glory. It wasn’t easy. There were many times that we were not sure we were going to make it, but then God would show up and show out and get us through until the next month.
We spent many nights on our knees praying for provisions from the Lord. Stephen sold his truck, we sold our Wii, he sold almost every tool he had to make ends meet. During this whole time, I can only remember one time Stephen breaking down. He was such a wonderful example to me of how to behave during a crisis like this one.
We worshiped God while we waited. We served God while we waited. The weird thing is this: we had ultimate peace during those struggling times.
While you wait, serve God and let others see what a Miraculous Savior you serve. It will make a major difference in how the world sees Jesus and also how you view Him as well.

Things are tough here as well. Hardly any work for a self-employed sub contractor here in Michigan. We are trusting the Lord and HE is our peace.
