Weekly Wrap Up

This week has been a very busy week for us--homeschool and household. We have been having so much fund just doing stuff for Thanksgiving and getting the house ready for the holidays.

Monday: I cleaned our bedroom from top to bottom. It looks so much nicer. Stephen even bought some new curtains for our bedroom that he found on sale. They are energy effecient curtains that block out 99% of all light and sound--and they work!

We also went to the library to get some books to read about Thanksgiving, and of course I was disappointed. Our library is so disfunctional. Nothing is ever where it is supposed to be so it makes for a frustrating library visit.

Tuesday: The kids made Pilgrim Hats. This is an edible craft that just turned out adorable. They had so much fun and my husband loved them so much, he has requested that we make 3 batches for him to take to work with him.

Wednesday: We started working on our blessing tree this week. It is coming together nicely. Every year, we always put together a tree with a leaf for every day of Nov and it has something that we are thankful for. Each family member has their own color so it is easy to keep track of.

The kids also fixed us supper for the night. Stephen and I have been having to work later in the evening trying to get some of his remodeling work compelte before cold weather hits, so they decided to get some supper fixed for us.

Thursday: The kids and I sat down and began talking about all the stuff we want to make for Thanksgiving this year. They are helping me plan because they are also going to help me cook the meal for the first time this year. They are totally excited.

Friday: Friday is always our free day. We leave it open for errands and shopping and today was no different!

So that is our week in a wrap! How is your homeschooling going?

We always did Friday as our free day! We used to to go shopping or just run errands or the library...whatever we wanted. We also took the few "holiday" weeks off from our typical homeschool day, to do the very things you are doing! We did what needed to be done in math, english, etc., but then focused on the holiday.
I am done homeschooling now, but your blog brings back great memories!

I think we'll be doing our own Thanksgiving dinner this year, and it will be a first for us, too.
