I've Been Awarded

My friend Tina over at Being Made New has awarded me with The Versatile Blogger Award. I am humbled to even think that what I write on here, someone deems it important enough to read. It just goes to show how wonderful our God is! Thank you Tina for giving me this award.

Now I am supposed to share three things with you that I feel make me a versatile kind of person--so here goes.
  1. I am really learning how to let go and just have fun in school and not stress over the schedule--to much. We are really trying to get away from book work all together and learn from our five senses.
  2. I don't have one set thing on here that I post about--I post everything from recipes, marriage talks to more. I am just an all around kind of girl.
  3. I am one of those women who can be girly one minute and then turn right around and help my husband install windows in the next (yep ladies--he's a contractor)
So there you have my versatility list. Now, I am to pass this award on to three different bloggers who I feel are very versatile. . . .so let me see here....hmmmm
  • The Homespun Life: I love Sisterlisa's blog. She always shares some of the coolest things on there.
  • Hannah Braboy's blog is awesomeness! (I know her IRL and she is my bestest buddy)
  • The Chic Life--I love reading this lady's blog because her dog and my dog are exactly the same breed and color! Plus I have learned a lot about Zumba.
So there you have it! If you are receiving this award, here is what you are supposed to do:
  1. put the Versatile Blogger Award logo on your blog and/or in a new post;
  2. in a new post, share three ways in which you are versatile;
  3. pass the award on to three fellow bloggers;
  4. link the nominees within your post;
  5. let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blogs;
  6. share the love and link to the person from whom you received the award.

Thanks Tina!

I Got A New Award!

My friend Christi over at The Journey awarded me with this new award:

The Honest Scrap Blog Award! Thanks Christi for giving me this award. I take this highly as a compliment!
So here are the rules regarding this award:

  • In accepting this award I need to do the following:

  • Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award.

  • Share ten honest things about myself.

  • Present this award to seven others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.

  • Tell those seven people that they have been awarded the Honest Scrap and inform them of the guidelines for receiving their award.
Here are the 10 honest things about myself.

  1. I cannot get woke up in the morning without having a cup of coffee. I tried. . .really I did, but I just can't do it.

  2. I get jealous when my time with my husband gets interrupted. I love being with him and doing things with him.

  3. I am absolutely in love with being a housewife. I think it is the best job ever invented.

  4. I have let God down more in the last six months than I have in the last 10 years.

  5. Sometimes, I just want to stay home on Sundays instead of going to church.

  6. I have a meltdown about once a month when I get overwhelmed.

  7. My kids and my husband are my best friends.

  8. My mother in law and I get along great. She is a great friend to me.

  9. I have to be really careful or I will spend too much money at the store. I have to keep reminding myself that we are on a budget.

  10. I secretly like the way I look, even though I am a little overweight.
So there are my ten things about myself. Now seven of my favorite blogs that have brought me encouragement over the past few months are:

  • Proverbs 22:6 Academy. My friend Ginny has the coolest printable monthy journal calendar. She also has some great thought provoking posts AND I work with her!

  • At The Well. I have been writing from here for a while now. I don't even remember how I found this website, but I LOVE how they help me to be a better wife and mother.

  • Lessons Learned On The Farm. Nancy and I are friends in real life, but before I knew her, I was reading her blog. She and her family are such an inspiration to me!

  • Jesus Loves Mums. Colette and I have been bloggy buddies for a while now and I think I enjoy reading more of what she writes than than my own writings! She is so talented!

  • Reflections of a Face. My friend Hannah is a blessing to me! She is a personal friend that just happens to be a teenager, but she is an awesome one! She also is a great blogging buddy!

  • An Instrument 4 His Glory. Beth and I read each other's blogs regularly, and even though we are states apart, I feel like she is truly a close friend. She is always leaving me sweet notes about something I have written! What a blessing.

  • The Finer Things In Life. My bloggy friend Amy always is posting something that really speaks to my heart.
Thanks Christi for givning me this award! There are so many blogs I would love to give this to, but since I am limited to seven I guess I will just have to choose seven of you!

  • Kela at Pursuing What Is Excellent: She is my girl...that is all I can say about that! She is also starting a new blog. You can check that out here.
  • Amy at Finer Things In Life: Her meme helps me to remember each week why I am a homeschooling mother-my finer thing in life!

Bloggy Awards from Journey Home

My friend Michelle over at Journey Home awarded me 2 Bloggy Awards. First, I am just amazed that people actually read my blog and find interesting things here. Secondly, I am humbled that God would choose a little bitty peon like myself to share His word with others.

Here are the two awards I received:

I get the honor of passing these awards on to 7 of my favorite blogs, so here we go:

  • Nancy at "Lessons Learned On The Farm". Not only is she my good friend, but she makes a great boss and encourager of homeschoolers as well!
  • Celtic Mom at "Happiest At Home". She always has some kind of wonderful tip on her website.
  • Molly Green at Econobusters. She has tons of tips and savings to help us break free from this economy! She posted two frugal chocolate recipes today!
  • Hannah at "Everyday Musings". Hannah is one of my very favorite people. I love her blog, but she is my lifesaver at our Homeschool Group Meetings!
  • Suzanne at "Fill Your Life with Simple Joys". Each time I read an entry on Suzanne's blog, I am reminded of how simple life can be and how joyous a time I can have with simplicity! Plus she just happens to be one of my very good homeschool group friends!
  • Candace at "Living For The King" . She always has been an encouragement to me and brings chips and salsa to our Steering Committee Meetings (Gotta love a girl who supplies you with Chips and Salsa right?
  • And last but not least, my friend Kari, at "Honeysuckle Cave Farm". She is graduating a daughter this year and is extremely knowledgeable about homeschooling high schoolers. I am sure that I will be relying on her some in the coming years as we are soon going to have a high schooler amongst our clan!
Be sure to stop by each of these blogs and say hi! As moms, we can always use the encouragement!
